CDI refers to a process by which we strive to make good decisions through our leadership structure. Our commissions seek to inform and advise the pastor on the road to making good decisions for our parish. Our decision making process also seeks to make decisions at the most appropriate level of our leadership. Some decisions can be made at the individual ministry level, while others need to be made at the commission or pastoral council levels. It is always important to remember that all decisions need final approval and consent from the Pastor.
CDI stands for:
C - Consult
D - Decide
I - Inform
No matter what the decision or who is making a decision it is important to consult all concerned parties for input, information and consensus. After consultation the decision is then made by the appropriate people. Finally, all concerned are infomred of the decisions and the reasons behind the decision.
By keeping as many people involved in the process through CDI we tap into the shared wisdom of the entire community. We make decisions based on the the right decision and we keep all informed throughout the process.
