Adult Confirmation
Seeking to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation?
Are you baptized and have you received Eucharist?
Are you over the age of 18 and out of High School?
If your answer is “YES” it's not too late.
Confirmation for adult Catholics in the Archdiocese of Galveston Houston is celebrated annually at the time of Pentecost. To be eligible to participate in this celebration of the sacrament of Confirmation you must be a practicing (or returning) Catholic who is
~ over the age of 18 and no longer in high school,
~ baptized and made your First Communion
~ (if married) married according to the norms of the Catholic Church.
Preparation for the celebration of the sacrament of Confirmation for adults involves presenting a current record of your baptism (dated within the last 3 months) and choosing an eligible sponsor, completion of the required paperwork and interview, and participation in the required preparation sessions.

The sessions will be offered at beginning in February followed by Confirmation on or near Pentecost weekend, May 31, 2020.
If you are a member of St. Ignatius Loyola parish, you are welcome to join the preparation sessions offered here. If you cannot make the sessions on the dates offered here, the Adult Confirmation coordinator in the Adult Formation Office will help you find a parish in which to participate. As a parishioiner of St. Ignatius, if you plan to participate in preparation sessions at a parish other than St. Ignatius, you must have a letter from St. Ignatius indicating you have met with the Adult Confirmation Coordinator at St. Ignatius and completed the initial preparatory steps.
If you are a member of another parish, you are welcome to join the preparation sessions at St. Ignatius. To do so, you must
~ complete an interview and the appropriate paperwork at your parish
~ bring a letter from your parish stating that you have permission to participate in the preparation sessions here at St. Ignatius Loyola.
