Becoming Catholic is an ordered, several step process through which adults and children/youth ages 7-17 become members of the Catholic Church.
This process begins with a period of inquiry, where those seeking to know more can meet informally with session leaders and ask any questions they have about God, faith, and the Catholic Church. Following this period of inquiry, those who wish to learn more may enter into a period of systematic study and prayer called the catechumenate. After spending time praying and reflecting on what they have learned, those who wish to come into the Catholic Church may request to receive the sacraments of initiation - Baptism (if unbaptized), Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist.
This process will look different for each person because the call of the Holy Spirit is unique to everyone. For some, this process is a relatively short one; for others, it may take many months and even years. But the members of our Formation ministry are committed to walking with each person that the Lord sends to us for as long as their journey with us lasts. The ritual book for the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults reminds us: "The people of God, as represented by the local church, should understand...that the initiation of adults is the responsibility of all the baptized."
Adults seeking Baptism, Confirmation and First Eucharist or baptized Christians seeking full communion with the Catholic Church who want to complete their initiation with both the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist are invited to join us for our initial inquiry sessions.

Un-Baptized Children and Teens: If your child or teen is between the ages of 7 and 17, he or she will begin a two year formation process in preparation to receive the three sacraments of initiation- Baptism, Confirmation and First Eucharist. Parents of unbaptized children must register their child in Formation. You will then receive information regarding the introductory session to be held in mid-September. One or preferably both parents must attend this information session with their child or teen. A copy of your child’s birth certificate is required.
